Dr. Green specializes in psycho-educational and neuropsychological assessment of children beginning at age 6, as well as adolescents and adults. Domains evaluated include: cognitive, academic, language, processing, memory, attention, executive functioning, and social-emotional functioning including autism.
The assessment process involves a series of appointments, beginning with the initial consultation which typically lasts 1.5 - 2 hours. During this meeting, detailed information is gathered about developmental, medical, educational, family, and socio-emotional history.
The length of the testing itself varies depending on the breadth of the test battery and typically spans at least two sessions. Session length is determined by a number of factors such as age, attentional capacity, and emotional factors. As part of the assessment process, Dr. Green collaborates with schools, treatment providers, and other individuals who may be able to provide helpful information about functioning across settings.
It typically takes three weeks from the last day of testing to score, analyze, and integrate the data, write the report, and meet for the final feedback meeting. This includes discussion of individualized recommendations across settings. Dr. Green also sometimes meets separately with children to engage in a developmentally appropriate, strengths-based conversation about the findings. In addition, she communicates the results to other professionals such as psychiatrists, therapists, schools, and educational professionals.
